Man seriously hurt in vehicle crash on northbound I-95

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY —A man was seriously hurt after his pickup truck crashed into a concrete barrier and a guard rail on northbound Interstate 95, fire rescue crews said.

This is the fourth serious crash to happen in the county this week.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about noon Friday near the 147 mile marker on I-95, Indian River County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said. The man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce with serious injuries.

No roads were closed from the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol will investigate the cause of the wreck.
