SEBASTIAN — Police identified a 45-year-old motorcyclist killed in a traffic crash over the weekend.
Sebastian police named the driver, who was possibly speeding, as Timothy C. Left II, of Sebastian, a news release shows. First responders pronounced Left dead at the scene.
Police spotted the red motorcycle about 2 a.m. Saturday after they saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 1600 block of U.S. 1, reports show. The exact speed was not immediately available.
Officers had trouble keeping up with the motorcycle because of how fast it was traveling, reports show. A short time later, police found the crashed motorcycle near Barber Street and Nebraska Circle.
Officers gave first aid to the driver, later identified as Left, before emergency medical personnel arrived on scene, reports show. Left died from his injuries, police said.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
