Elderly motorist crashes into CVS

An elderly Port St. Lucie man trying to park his car in front of the CVS on SW St. Lucie Boulevard instead crashed his vehicle into the building late last week.

No one inside the store was injured as a result of the crash, though the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

According to police, the 82-year-old man was driving a 2010 silver Kia Sportage SUV and was attempting to park in a handicap spot near the entrance when he began shaking uncontrollably. The man hit the gas pedal, which caused the car to jump the sidewalk and strike the store’s glass entry doors.
