Skydiver makes hard landing, rushed to hospital

SEBASTIAN — A skydiver was rushed to the hospital after making a hard landing Monday at the Sebastian Municipal Airport, officials said.

His condition was not immediately available Tuesday.

Sebastian police responded to the incident Monday at Skydive Sebastian, located at 400 Airport Drive, police Lt. Tim Wood said. The man, in his early 60’s, was taken by ambulance to the Sebastian River Medical Center.

He was later taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Indian River County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said. Further details on the incident were not immediately available.
