Teen facing charges in shooting

A teen is accused of firing a gun into an occupied vehicle, narrowly missing one person, and now faces attempted murder charges.

No one was injured in the shooting on Jan. 26, according to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.

Authorities were called out to an apartment complex located in the 1900 block of SE Hillmoor Drive around 8 p.m. Saturday regarding gunfire.

There, they determined that Radravious D’Juan Williams, 19, fired a gun, first at the driver of a vehicle, and then at the victim’s vehicle as the driver and his passenger fled the area.

According to police, Williams recognized the vehicle occupied by two people with whom he was having a conflict and pulled his own vehicle into a parking spot next to it.

Williams then shot at the driver as the driver attempted to get out of the car, “just barely missing him,” police said in a press release.

The victim then got back into the car and tried to leave the parking lot. During the escape attempt, Williams fired two more rounds at the vehicle, missing the two people in the car.

Neither the driver nor passenger were identified.

On Sunday, Jan. 27, police located Williams in an apartment near the scene of the shooting and placed him under arrest. He was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $253,750 bail.

Williams faces charges that include two counts of attempted second-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
