Motorcyclist killed in Wednesday morning crash

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that led to a motorcyclist’s death in Vero Beach.

According to FHP, the motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Clarence Curtis Lee, was struck while at the intersection of 45th Street and 48th Avenue shortly around 11 a.m. Wednesday. The driver of a 2003 Ford Ranger, identified as 76-year-old Lucien Joseph, was traveling east on 45th Street while Lee was headed west.

Joseph attempted a left turn onto 48th Avenue when he struck Lee.

Lee, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Indian River Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.
