Door smashed, computers stolen in early Saturday burglary

VERO BEACH — The owner of a communications store was calculating losses after an unknown suspect or suspects smashed a glass door to the business, stealing computers early Saturday.

Mark Herndon, owner of Autobahn Communications, Inc., said employees contacted Vero Beach Police Department about the incident and that a case report was made. Police spokesman Officer Brad Kmetz was not immediately available for comment.

Herndon said the incident happened shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday at the store, located off State Road A1A and north of Jaycee Park. It was not immediately known what object was used to break the door.

Herndon declined to comment on how many computers were stolen and their total estimated value. A sheet of wood was placed inside of the frame of the broken door.

Autobahn Communications offers a variety of services including computer repairs, web design, technology systems, consultation services and equipment and software training, according to its website.
