Ongoing stormwater repairs in Melbourne Beach have forced a road closure in the 500 block of Riverside Drive that will remain in effect until Dec. 21.
Town Manager Robert Daniels said all through traffic is requested to utilize State Road A1A as a detour route.
“The city of Melbourne water is moving and replacing some pipes and that will be followed with replacement of a storm water pipeline by the town of Melbourne Beach,” Daniels said.
For residents who live in the area the town has provided the following local detours:
Southbound Riverside Drive
Detour to eastbound Hibiscus Trail. Turn right on Shannon Avenue. Detour continues south on Shannon Avenue, right turn on Andrews Drive, west to Riverside Drive, left to southbound Riverside Drive.
Northbound Riverside Drive
Detour to eastbound Andrews Drive. Left turn on Mango Drive. Left turn on Harland Avenue. Right turn on Riverside Drive.
