SEBASTIAN — A woman was seriously hurt after her blue Chevy van overturned and rolled on its roof, leaving her trapped inside the vehicle, Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Indian River County Fire Rescue crews cut open the vehicle to free the woman, who was unconscious, Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said.
Firefighters responded to the single vehicle crash shortly before 1 p.m. Friday in the 10000 block of U.S. 1, in front of the Whispering Palms campground, Kofke said. The woman was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne with serious injuries.
No other occupants were in the van, Kofke said. The Florida Highway Patrol was investigating the cause of the crash Friday, spokesman Lt. Alvaro Feola said
