Boater rescues 2 on Jet Ski adrift at Sebastian Inlet

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A nearby boater helped rescue two people aboard a Jet Ski that malfunctioned Sunday and went adrift in the Sebastian Inlet toward the sea, officials said.

Witnesses told authorities the yellow and black Jet Ski was not working and appeared to be floating out to sea about 5 p.m. Sunday at the Sebastian Inlet, a sheriff’s report shows. Footage from a sheriff’s helicopter released Sunday shows a person on the Jet Ski and another halfway submerged in the water, holding onto the vessel.
