FELLSMERE — An outage that left more than 1,000 residents without power was restored within 40 minutes, a Florida Power & Light Co. spokesperson said.
The outage occurred about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when tree branches made contact with a power line in the 40 block of South Bay Street, Fellsmere police Chief Keith Touchberry said. FPL crews worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to the 1,600 customers affected, spokesperson Marie Bertot said.
All power was restored shortly before 5 p.m., Bertot said.
