Dorothy Helen Rakowski, 90, Sebastian

Dorothy Helen Rakowski, 90, died Sept. 29, 2018, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. She was born in Cudahy, Wisc., and lived in Sebastian for 21 years coming from Kenosha, Wisc.

She married the love of her life, Dan Rakowski, on June 28, 1947, and spent many wonderful years together traveling and cruising.
Dorothy was vice-president of Rakowski Distributing, Kenosha, Wisc., until her retirement.

She was a member of the Polish American Social Club where she volunteered many hours. Dorothy would be best remembered for her love of shopping.

Survivors include her daughters, Doreen Rakowski (Marc Coy-Rosser) and Debbie Petroski (Neal); granddaughters, Cari Campagna (Dustin Williams), Amanda Primavera (Sean), all of Sebastian, and Kasey Dixon, of Austin, Texas; grandson, Eric Hummer, of New York, N.Y.; great-granddaughters, Marissa Grace Primavera, Danielle Marie Primavera, Giavanna Rayne Primavera, Madilyn Marie Williams, all of Sebastian, and Milan Sofia Dixon, of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dan Rakowski.

Memorial contributions may be made to any animal protection charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, at Strunk Funeral Home in Sebastian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.

Interment will follow at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian.
