Pelican Island Preservation Society to host juried show in October

Pelican Island Preservation Society will host the juried Indian River Bird and Nature Art Show Oct. 12-14. This year the show will be held at the Sebastian River Art Club. There will be a Plein Air paint out on Friday from 9 a.m -3 p.m. at either the SRAC location or at the Pelican Island Refuge.

Winners will be on display to the public from 6-8 p.m. with an artists reception. The show will be open to the public  Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 9-4.

On Saturday, a sunset cocktail cruise to Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge will be offered with tour leader “naturalist” Heather Stapleton at 5pm with a cost of $45.  At 3:30 p.m. there is a keynote speech about National Refuge week by retired USFWS Missi Hatfield. The cruise and speech are both at Capt. Hiram’s.
