INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Rainfall is expected to sweep throughout the county this week and weekend, weather experts said.
Weather officials said winds up to 40 mph with frequent lightning would possibly hit Vero Beach about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

There will be a 40 to 50 percent chance of showers each day for the remainder of the week, weather forecasters said. Weekdays will have high temperatures near the low 90s while evening temperatures will be near the mid 70s.
Saturday and Sunday will both have a 40 to 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Both days will have high temperatures near the high 80s and low temperatures near the mid 70s.
South winds throughout the remainder of the week will be between 5 to 15 mph.
