New Delaura school principal is familiar face

The homecomings continue for Satellite Beach schools and new principals.

Jeremy LeBrun, who attended Delaura Middle School, was recently named as Delaura’s new principal.

LeBrun replaces Bobby Pruett, who moved next door to become principal of his alma mater, Satellite High.

“It is a dream come true to be able to return to my hometown and lead a school like Delaura,” LeBrun said in a press release from the school district. “This is the school where I had that one great teacher who inspired me to get into the education field and ensure that all students have an optimal learning environment.”

LeBrun previously taught at Southwest Middle, was a dean at Merritt Island High and then assistant principal at Merritt Island.

“This is one of the only professions where you have the chance to change a child’s life every single day you walk into the building,” he said. “I know what an enormous amount of faith it takes to let someone else watch over your children. I am committed to making sure that all students feel safe, receive quality instruction each day and feel supported during these transitional years.”

LeBrun also graduated from Satellite High School. He lives in Indialantic with his wife, who was a district teacher for eight years, and their two children.
