FELLSMERE — Two men were arrested and several guns were seized at the conclusion of a drug sales investigation in Fellsmere Friday.
The investigation included officials from both the Fellsmere Police Department and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office and concluded with the execution of a search warrant at 12945 100th Lane, Fellsmere.
The Sheriff’s Office’s SWAT team entered the home as the search warrant was executed due to the weapons believed to be inside.
Seized in the search included a Springfield M1 rifle, a Remington .22 rifle, an Anderson AR15, a Taurus .38 Special, and a Charter Arms .38 Special, along with a variety of ammunition, according to the Fellsmere Police Department
Those arrested were Christopher Rodriguez, 23, of 1052 Booker St., Fellsmere, and Heriberto Gamez, 30, of 12945 100th Lane, Fellsmere.
Rodriguez faces charges that include possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, violation of probation for a prior felony offense.
Gamez faces charges that include possession of marijuana under 20 grams and possession of legend drug without prescription, violation of probation for a prior felony offense.
Even with the arrests, the agencies are continuing their investigation.
