4 candidates qualify for County Court Judge

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County Supervisor of Elections announces that the qualifying period for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, judicial, state attorney and public defender candidates ended on May 4.

County court judges are the only candidates that qualify with their local Supervisor of Elections office.

The following candidates qualified for ballot position in Indian River County:

Judge David C. Morgan is unopposed; therefore his name shall not appear on the General Election ballot and he will become elected automatically.

Group 2 candidates’ names will appear on the Primary Election ballot. For the Group 2 race, if any candidate receives a majority of the votes cast in the primary election, such candidate is the winner.

If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast in the Primary Election, the names of the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be placed on the General Election ballot.

Judicial races are nonpartisan, so all Indian River County registered voters are eligible to vote in judicial races.
