Update – The school remained on the boil water notice Wednesday.
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An underground pipe that was turned off for repair at a local school led officials to place a 72-hour boil water notice at the campus, authorities said.
Officials turned off the pipe Tuesday afternoon at Glendale Elementary School, 4940 8th Street. The school will remain on the boil water notice as health department officials conduct water sampling tests, School District spokeswoman Cristen McMillan said.
The water will not be turned on until officials determine the water is safe to drink, McMillan said. Necessary precautions have been taken and bottled water has been delivered to the school for use, officials said.
