IRC Stroke of Hope Club recognized by National Stroke Asso.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Stroke of Hope Club is the only local stroke support group recognized by the National Stroke Association. We have served thousands of survivors of Strokes since 1997.

More than 3,000 Stroke cases were presented at Indian River Medical Center in 2017. More than 10,000 Indian River County residents are living with stroke as survivors and caregivers. The Stroke of Hope Club is pleased to announce plans to greatly expand our service to local Stroke survivors and their dedicated caregivers.

Thanks to a generous grant by Healthsouth of the Treasure Coast, support meetings, long held in Sebastian, are being expanded to Vero Beach.

Information is now available online at StrokeOfHopeClub.com and events are being planned for the month of May, which is national Stroke Month. This month, the Stroke of Hope Club will be offering informative speakers to media outlets and service clubs throughout Indian River County to provide information on strokes including warning signs, emergency response and rehabilitation after a stroke event. The fact is, for most, the first sign of a stroke, is a stroke.

Please email [email protected] or call at 772-242-HELP (4357) to schedule a guest speaker for your club, organization or show.
