INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 63-year-old Lake Mary man died Wednesday afternoon after suffering from a medical episode before crashing his van, authorities said.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Charles F. Stiwalt was traveling about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on southbound Interstate 95 when he experienced a medical episode. He then veered off the roadway to the right and struck a fence on the western shoulder.
Stiwalt was taken to the Indian River Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead, troopers said. Stiwalt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
