Kaloust A. Aslanian, 68, Sebastian

Kaloust A. Aslanian, 68, of Sebastian, died April 26, 2018, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. Kaloust was born in Baghdad, Iraq, and has lived in Sebastian for 12 years moving there from Vero Beach.

He was a postman for the United States Postal Service for over 10 years before his retirement in 2012.

Kaloust was a member of Calvary Chapel, Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Violet Aslanian; brother, Barkev Aslanian, of Holland; and sister, Shake Medda, of Italy.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel, 941 18th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 in memory of Kaloust A. Aslanian.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A funeral service will be held 11a.m., Thursday, May 3, at Calvary Chapel, Vero Beach with Rev. Jim Gallagher officiating.

Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery, Vero Beach.

 

John Consiglio, 75, Sebastian

John “Papa John” Consiglio, 75, of Sebastian, died suddenly on NFL Draft Day, Thursday, April 26, 2018.  John was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., Sept. 9, 1942.

John worked for J.A. Valenti Electric Company for 35 years as an Electrical Supervisor.

John retired to Sebastian in 2008 and loved everything about Sebastian.  He was an avid fisherman who always enjoyed being out on the water.

He loved to cook and tend to his garden.  John was the most generous and caring man.  He was always there to help everyone.

He was a member of the Italian American Club in Sebastian.  “Papa John,” as he was lovingly called by many, always supported the youth in the community.  He volunteered for Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Sebastian River High School Band and Football Programs.

Besides his love for fishing, his greatest pleasure in life was being with his seven grandchildren and watching the Jets on Sundays afternoon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (nee Gerace), of 52 years; three daughters; two sons-in-law; seven grandchildren, Patricia (Paul), Debra (Chris), Chrissie (Sean), Brianna, John, Nicholas, Stephanie, Jenna, Matthew and Olivia; his beloved cousin, Joe and Carol Pelliccio; and his beloved grand-dog, Scout, his buddy and best friend.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate John’s life by gathering for a Viewing at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian, on Wednesday, May 2, from 4-7 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel.

 

Christine Stromberg, 63, Vero Beach

Christine Stromberg, 63, of Vero Beach, died April 25, 2018, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. She was born Nov. 7, 1954, in Perth Amboy, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 30 years coming from her birth place.

She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Class of 1972. Christine later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Trenton State College, Trenton, N.J. She has been a registered nurse since 1975, most recently working as Medical Director for the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Christine was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Kenneth Stromberg, of Vero Beach; son, Matthew Stromberg (Pahoua), of Vero Beach; granddaughter, Chloe Grace Stromberg, of Vero Beach; grandson, Brady Stromberg, of Vero Beach; and sister, Carol Smerecki, of Perth Amboy, N.J.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 in memory of Christine Stromberg.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 7, at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, 10941 Southern Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL, 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 11.
