INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A traffic stop yielded the club drug ecstasy in a vehicle with a passenger admitting to tucking marijuana in her genitals to keep it hidden, deputies said.
Deputies also found pot pieces across the passenger and driver seats, an arrest report shows.
Deputies charged the passenger, Janet Oneyana Nelsoit, 18, of Fort Pierce, and the driver, Abigail Rose Crawford, 19, of the 100 block of 66th Avenue, each with possession of marijuana under 20 grams. Crawford also faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Nelsoit was released Tuesday from the Indian River County Jail on $500 bond. Crawford was released the same day on $4,000 bond.
A patrolling deputy pulled over a silver SUV about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday at a Citgo gas station, located at 4105 U.S. 1, between 45th and 41st streets. The deputy called for a K-9 unit after smelling marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Deputies found marijuana parts on the passenger seat and the floorboard where Nelsoit was sitting, an arrest report shows.
Deputies also found a chunk of a green leafy substance later determined to be marijuana on the driver’s seat and near the center console, where Crawford was sitting, authorities said. Deputies found a variety of drugs in the glove box including sedative drugs, drugs used to treat ADHD and an ecstasy pill, an arrest report shows.
Crawford admitted the drugs found in the glove box belonged to her. Nelsoit admitted to deputies she had marijuana stuffed inside her private parts, an arrest report shows.
Both Crawford and Nelsoit were taken to the county jail, where deputies observed Nelsoit remove the marijuana bag from her vagina, authorities said.
