Eugene Philip Perna, 79, Vero Beach
Eugene Philip Perna, 79, of Vero Beach, passed away on April 5, 2018, at the Consulate of Vero Beach. He was born in Queens, N.Y., on Oct. 2, 1938.
Gene moved to Vero in 1977 and worked as a purchasing agent and methods engineer at Piper Aircraft and then moved to Harris Corporation until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Chris; and their son, Michael.
Sophie Libbos, 89, Vero Beach
Sophie Libbos, 89, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the VNA Hospice in Vero Beach surrounded by her loving family. Born in Braddock, Pa., she was daughter of the late Christ and Maria (Tzamouzakis) Stambolis.
She was the beloved wife of George Libbos for the past 65 years; loving mother of Christina (David) Picard and Michael (Jacqueline) Libbos; cherished grandmother of three granddaughters, three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; and beloved sister of Theodora Stambolis and Helen Balouris.
Sophie and George moved to Sebastian 33 years ago from Finleyville, Pa. They were award winning ballroom dancers and enjoyed many cruises together.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018, 10 a.m. at Seawinds Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sebastian Cemetery.
