Evelyn Barrett, 96, Sebastian
Evelyn Barrett, 96, of Sebastian, died at her home of 30 years on March 21, 2018. She previously resided in Wakefield, Mass. She was born Dec. 3, 1921.
Evelyn’s professional career included positions at Polaroid Corporation and Florida Institute of Technology.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sebastian.
Evelyn’s family includes children, Keith (wife, Karin), Karen, Kevin, Kenneth (wife, Susan); seven grandchildren, Kenneth, Amy, Kimberly, Lindsay, Kristina, Trevor, Karla; seven great-grandchildren, Zachary, Kristina, Krystal, Michael, James, Joshua, Xander; six nephews and nieces, Geoff (wife, Pati), Gigi, Gerri, Norman, Sarah, Heather; dear friend, Harold “Mac” McGothlin; and “sisters,” Carolyn and Thelma.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth.
Arthur Patrick Cussen, 81, Vero Beach
Arthur Patrick Cussen, 81, of Vero Beach, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., Sept. 21, 1936.
He was a kind and loving man.
Art was a veteran of the US Air Force and graduate of the University of Buffalo.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cussen.
No services are planned.
Nora May Smith, 90, Vero Beach
Nora May Smith, 90, of Vero Beach, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at her home. Nora was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Fords, N.J., to the late Nels Kistrup and Christina Samsoe Kistrup. She moved to Vero Beach in 1991 from Lisle, Ill.
She had been a school teacher prior to her retirement.
Nora was a longtime member of Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church in Vero Beach where she had served on the church council, finance Committee and endowment committee, and volunteered in the church office.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women for numerous years. She was a member of AAUW, and an avid bridge player and golfer.
Survivors include her children, Daniel (Marie) Smith, of Santa Rosa Beach, Linda S. Becker, of Indian Harbor Beach, and Barry Richard (Deborah) Smith, of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alan Smith.

A committal service celebrating her life will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at Christ By The Sea United Methodist Church Memorial Garden.
