INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Youth Guidance Mentoring Academy is proud to announce Emily Wilcox as the new Group Mentoring Specialist. She has a passion for youth and education and is excited to develop, promote educational services and leadership development opportunities to our youth community.
Emily graduated from Vero Beach High School and went on to California State University San Marcos, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. Additionally, she completed CSUSM’s Integrated Credential Program with an emphasis in Arts in Education and a Minor in Spanish. During her four years of undergraduate studies, she worked for the university as Intramural Sports Coordinator. Wilcox served as treasurer for the Women’s Lacrosse club and helped captain her team to nationals.
She went on to earn a Master of Science at Illinois State University where she worked in higher education as a Graduate Assistant for Competitive Sports. Upon her graduation from Illinois State, she went on to work at Historic Dodgertown as Assistant Director of Marketing.
Wilcox is a proud Indian River County resident who lives in Vero Beach with her husband, Errol, their sweet little baby girl, Winnie, and their two dog’s Xena and Weddle.
