Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day – or so it seemed as Veroites donned their most festive green for the 15th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade last Saturday morning, presented by the Oceanside Business Association.
Green-clad fans lined the Ocean Drive parade route from Flamevine to Azalea Lane, watching and cheering as friends and family members showed their Celtic and community.
Led by jeweler John Michael Matthews as St. Patrick himself, the patron saint of Ireland, the enthusiastic parade participants included school, church and civic groups, lots of talented young twirlers, law enforcement personnel, and members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the country’s oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization.
