Joyce Tribble Abernathy, 88, Vero Beach

Joyce Tribble Abernathy, 88, of Vero Beach, went to Heaven on March 12, 2018. She was born in Athens, Limestone County, Ala., on Aug. 17, 1929, to Hopkins “Hop” Thomas Tribble and Bertha Morris.

For 35 years, Joyce was a pastor’s wife and served beside her husband, Eugene, in churches in Florida and Mississippi. She was a devoted Christian and a member of King’s Baptist Church.

In her early 40s, she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and bravely fought that horrible disease until her last breath.

She is survived by her husband, William Clanton of Margate, Fla.; daughters, Sandra (Robert) Walker, of Vero Beach, and Jeannie Abernathy, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; stepdaughters, Gwen (Herb) Schneider, Jane (Robbie) Peacock, and Carolyn (David) Reynolds. She loved and was loved by her grandchildren, Rebecca (Jeff) Lougee, Stephanie (Ian) Ramjas, Kristin (Jamie) Strickland, and Kelli Walker; great-grandchildren, Lydia (John) Gause, Dominic Carver, Maverick and Jaxon Lougee, and Jessica Strickland.

She was predeceased by her first husband of 48 years, Eugene Abernathy; and grandsons, Ryan Eugene Armstrong and Isaiah Lee Grajales.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. followed by a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens, Ala. A dear family friend, Rev. Robert Shook, will officiate at the service.

Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Walter Bobinski, 86, Sebastian

Walter Bobinski, 86, of Sebastian, passed away March 12, 2018, in Vero Beach. He was born on Aug. 21, 1931, in Bloomfield, N.J., to the late Vincent and Pauline Bobinski.

Walter served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955.

He was a long time employee of General Motors, Parts Division, in Bloomfield and Englewood, N.J., and retired from GM in Bensalem, Pa., in 1987 after 32 years.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia (Canham), to whom he was happily married for 64 years. Survivors also include his son, William (wife, Arleen) of Anderson, S.C.; and daughters, Janet (husband, George) Krall, of Kenvil, N.J., and Susan Vogt, of Sebastian.

Walter enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, as well as his friends in Pelican Pointe, Sebastian.

He was predeceased by his six brothers and three sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made in Walter’s name to VNA & Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Seawinds Funeral Home, Sebastian.

To honor Walter’s wishes, services are private. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
