SEBASTIAN — It’s ShrimpFest time again with a new location and new format – but the same great Florida Shrimp and Craft Beer.
The three days of shrimp, craft brews, live music, and lots of vendors will be held March 16 through 18 at Riverview Park, US 1 at County Road 512, Sebastian.
Local restaurants and food trucks will compete for the bragging rights to the winning recipe and the coveted “Third Annual Golden Shrimp Award.” Everyone attending the festival can vote for their favorite dish. Allergic to seafood? Your kids don’t like shrimp? Don’t let that stop you from enjoying a great weekend as hotdogs, hamburgers, pizza and other great foods will be available.
The event features free entry and parking and shuttle service, live music, loads of vendors and more. Pareidolia Brewing Company of Sebastian has joined forces with over 20 Florida brewers and home brewers who are bringing their best brews for the Craft Beer Tasting on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Entry to the festival is free but the Craft Brew Tasting is $35 at the door, presales are $30 at www.eventbrite.com.
Summer Crush Vineyard and Winery of Ft. Pierce will delight you with their selection of wine during the entire weekend.
The shuttle service is a trolley that will run from the park and head north on US 1 to the parking lot at Jackson Street. It will then head south on Indian River Drive to the parking lot across from Crab-E-Bill Seafood and then back to the park.
Trolley stop signs will be posted along the way to identify pick-up spots. A map is posted on the website at www.ShrimpFestFL.com
The festival begins on Friday, March 16, with a pre-St. Patty’s Day party at 3 p.m. including food, Irish music, and brew until 9 p.m. On Saturday, March 17, the event runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 18, the event starts at 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
This event is a joint effort of the Rotary Club of Sebastian and the Exchange Club of Fellsmere. Proceeds go to support youth sports activities, Boys and Girls Club of Fellsmere, anti-bullying programs and the prevention of child abuse.
