Spring Forward for Hunger brunches benefit Treasure Coast Food Bank

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Celebrate the season and savor the bounty of locally grown foods at Spring Forward for Hunger farm-to-table brunches benefiting Treasure Coast Food Bank.

This year, Spring Forward for Hunger expands to two dates and two locations, each offering guests an up-close experience of the Treasure Coast’s home grown harvest. Spring Forward for Hunger will be held on Saturday, March 24, at Schacht Groves in Indian River County, and on Saturday, April 14, at Kai-Kai Farm in Martin County. Both are locally owned growers of fresh Florida produce.

Guests are invited to pair a tour of the farms along with brunch. Enjoy complementary mimosas or bloody marys along with a variety of specially prepared brunch dishes created from farm fresh ingredients in the lush farm settings.

The Blue Cypress Bluegrass Band will provide old-country infused entertainment.

At Schacht Groves, the menu includes French Toast Casserole, Southwest Scrambled Eggs, and a Yogurt Parfait station, along with croissants, and, fresh fruit and vegetables prepared by Wild Thyme Catering.

Resident Chef Kitty Phillips will prepare the brunch at Kai-Kai Farm, including Baked Orange French Toast, Kai-Kai Greens Frittata, Kai-Kai Salad with citrus vinaigrette, Grilled Chicken, and Pasta Salad Primavera with Kai-Kai veggies.

Tickets are $60 per person, with limited seating available. Sponsorship opportunities also are available.
