Main Street Vero features artist Dr. Hagood March 2

VERO BEACH – Main Street Vero Beach March Guest artist of the month is Dr. Johnson Hagood, DDS. The Dr. will have a reception for his show on March 2 from 5 – 8 p.m.

He is a self-taught painter, having painted with oils since childhood. Painting in a distinctive impressionistic style, Dr. Hagood uses a palette of vivid color with brush and palette knife to create works rife with movement and light.

His bold and deliberate brushstrokes evoke a sense of energy, with occasional soft edges to present a resting place for the eyes. His paintings have a sense of timelessness in nature, as if he has captured the very moment nature has reached the pinnacle of its beauty.

Dr. Hagood has been influenced most recently by the works of contemporary French artist Jean Claude Roy, implementing more abstract applications to some of his latest works.

“My artistic mission,” says Hagood, “is to share my passion of the beauty of nature through color-rich impressions of the very nature that inspires me.”
