INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 2-year-old died after drowning in a pool at a local home, deputies said.
Deputies went to a residence about 6 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of 48th Avenue in response to a child found unconscious in the pool, said sheriff’s spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers. CPR was in progress from the moment the child was found.
The child was taken to the Indian River Medical Center and pronounced dead. More information is expected to be released Tuesday and the investigation is ongoing, Flowers said.
