
VERO BEACH — A man has minor injuries after his car swerved off the road and crashed into a telephone pole Friday, police said.
The single-vehicle crash happened about 5 p.m. Friday in the eastbound lanes of 17th Street, near the State Road A1A intersection, said officer Chayse Hatfield. The crash left the telephone pole slightly tilted.

Hatfield said the man, who was driving the car, was stable when he was taken to the Indian River Medical Center. His wife, who was a passenger, was not hurt, but still went to the hospital with her husband.
Their identities were not available.
Alcohol was not a factor and the cause of the crash was not available. Officers and firefighters were still at the scene about 8 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by police.
No further information was available.
