Shirley E. Nero, 85, Vero Beach
Shirley E. Nero, 85, of Vero Beach, passed away Jan. 2, 2018, at VNA Hospice House. She was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Plainfield, N.J., to the late Clarence E. and Edna Mae Carson.
Mrs. Nero moved to Vero Beach in 1986 coming from Piscataway, N.J.
Prior to retirement, she worked as a master chef and kitchen director for several country clubs in New Jersey as well as John’s Island and Vero Beach. Mrs. Nero wrote poetry, for which she won an award and also enjoying baking.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She leaves her memories to be cherished by her daughters, Mary Ann Anderson, of Vero Beach, and Edna Mae (John) Wesley, of Palm City, Fla.; grandson, Michael Federowicz, of Port Saint Lucie, and Tyler Wesley, of Happy Valley, Ore.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Nero; son, Benjamin Nero, Jr.; brother, George Carson; and sisters, Barbara Iellimo and Evelyn Cronin.
Mrs. Nero will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway, N.J.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
