Leo J. Archambault, 84, Vero Beach

Leo J. Archambault, 84, of Vero Beach, formerly of Waterford and Norwich, Conn., passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Dec. 27, 2017. He was born to the late Armand and Blanche (Lefebvre) Archambault in Springfield, Mass., on March 26, 1933.

He was a graduate of Assumption Preparatory High School in Worcester, Mass., Class of 1953. He graduated from American International College with a BS in Business. He was a Korean War Veteran.

He married the love of his life, Mary P.T. Girouard on June 8, 1957, at St. Aloysius Church in Leicester, Mass. Last July they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family.

Leo moved to New London, Conn., in 1959 and was a co-owner of Atlas Wrecking. He became a real estate developer and started ABC Realty Company, building many homes and apartments in Southeastern Connecticut.

He actively led Boy Scout Troop 36 in Waterford for several years and coached Waterford Minor League baseball. He was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in New London and was a former Board Member for Farmer’s and Mechanics Savings Bank.

In 1989, he moved to Norwich and owned and operated Main Street Car Wash until retiring to Vero Beach in 2000.

Leo is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Mary; and their six children: Ronald and wife Eileen (Hall), Robert, Richard, Ann Knowles and husband Patrick, Roy and wife Julie (Bruno), Amy Narducci and husband Jon; 16 grandchildren: Alexx, Logan, Stephanie, Sarah, Ryan, Mark, Alicia, Lydia, Griffen, Lauren, Adam, Julia, Abigail, Brady, James and Jessica and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Doris Maule, Julie Filiault, Claire Newsome, Rita Owen, and Lucy Dauplaise.

He was predeceased by a brother, René.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Impelliterri-Malia Funeral Home 84 Montauk Avenue, New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral, Norwich, with burial for the immediate family at their convenience.

Susan Louise Hall, 65, Vero Beach

Susan Louise Hall, 65, of Vero Beach, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. Susan was born Nov. 13, 1952, in Cheverly, Md., to the late Alvin and Doris (nee Peterman) Hall.

She moved to Vero Beach 31 years ago from Las Vegas.

She had worked as a Gastrointestinal Technician at the Indian River Medical Center before her retirement and was active in the Vero Beach Karate Association.

Survivors include her spouse, Lydia Perez; daughter, Sherry Chapman, of Vero Beach; brothers, Alvin Hall, Jr., and his wife, Judy, of Vero Beach, and John Hall, of Greenbelt, Md.; sister, Linda Hallock, of Vero Beach; stepdaughters, Stephanie Alvarez and her fiancé, Alyssia Jenkins, of San Antonio, Texas, Nicole Major, and her husband Matt, of Vero Beach, and Emy Jo Noffsinger, of Virgin, Utah; stepson, Travis Noffsinger, of Virgin, Utah; grandsons, Thomas Holbrook and his fiancé, Lindsay Tedesco, of Vero Beach, Frankie Major, of Vero Beach, and Matt Major, Jr., of Vero Beach; granddaughters, Lillyanna Alvarez, of San Antonio, Texas, and Jozlyn Ross, of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandson, Owen Holbrook, of Vero Beach; and sister-in-law, Diane Hall, of Dunkirk, Md.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Hall.

A memorial service celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
