Anna Herrmann Chew, 95, Vero Beach

Ann Herrmann Chew, 95, of Vero Beach, went home to be with Jesus on Dec. 2, 2017. She was born Nov. 3, 1922, in Baltimore, Md.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Claude; and two children – Claude “Chip” (Holly) Chew III and Marcia (Randy Guthrie) Hill.

She was blessed with three grandchildren, Jordan (Elizabeth) Chew, Taylor (Sarah) Chew, and Abby Chew; as well as two great-grandsons, Hudson and Lincoln Chew.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends globally who are also comforted by knowing that she is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord whom she longed to be with.

A Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held at Calvary Chapel of Vero Beach (http://www.ccvb.net) on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m.

 

June Claire Flack, 85, formerly Vero Beach

June Claire (nee Crabbe) Flack, 85, formerly of Vero Beach and Sebastian, passed into eternal life on Dec. 22, 2017. June was born in New Jersey on June 20, 1932, to Alvin O. Crabbe and Minna (nee Nibbe) Crabbe.

She was married to Jay Grant and they had five children together.

June and her children moved to Florida in 1964. In 1980, she married Charles B. Flack and moved to Sebastian.

In 1986, Charles passed away and June moved to Vero Beach. June, a Christian Scientist, was a member of the church in Vero Beach and served as reader, librarian, Sunday school teacher, soloist and board member.

In January 2017, June moved to Port St. Lucie and joined the CS Church in Stuart. June possessed a beautiful soprano voice and has blessed everyone around her with her beautiful singing.

She was a member of the Silver Tones in Vero Beach for 10 years.

June is preceded in death by her son, Jay Scott Grant; her parents; and her siblings, Alvin, Adrienne, Dorothy and George.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Jean Grant-Yopko, Jeffrey Pierce Grant, Jon Byron Grant and Patricia Jane (Grant) Shammas; her siblings, Carol and Arlene; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home, 7951 S. US 1, Port St. Lucie.
