VERO BEACH – To open the 2018 new year, Gallery 14 will present Making a Point: Tonal and Colorist Paintings by Sandy Johnson and Driven to Abstraction: Paintings by Helen Wheatley.
The show will run from Jan. 2-26, with a reception on Friday, Jan. 5, as part of the Historic Downtown Arts District’s First Friday Gallery Stroll.
Sandy, a native of Queensland, Australia, has resided in Florida for more than 40 years. A Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society and a member of the Pastel Society of America, her exquisitely executed pastels and oil paintings have been exhibited in many galleries and museums throughout the country.
Helen, who resides in Cocoa, Fla., grew up on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Pasadena, Md. She has won numerous awards and is a signature artist with the Acrylic Painters USA organization.
Also, featured will be work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, collage, sculpture, ceramic, jewelry and photography by artist-owners Edgardo Abello, Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Beth-Anne Fairchild, Mary Ann Hall, Barbara Landry, Deborah Morrell Polackwich and Dorothy Napp Schindel, along with works from represented artists Walford Campbell, Joan Earnhart, Diana Feuer, Terry Green, Mia Lindberg, Viola Pace Knudsen, Francis Mesaros, Michael Robinson, and Carol Staub.
Gallery 14, located at 1911 14th Ave., Vero Beach, is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment.
