Siblings perform Mozart, Schubert, Tchaikovsky Dec. 15

VERO BEACH – American musicians of Japanese and Libyan descent, Suliman and Jamila Tekalli have performed separately and as a pair for some of the most important people in the world and always to tremendous accolades.

Together, the brother and sister are The Tekalli Duo, internationally known violinist and pianist, respectively. The two will perform together in a single Treasure Coast performance sponsored by the Space Coast Symphony orchestra on Friday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.

Known for their high intensity performances, The Tekalli Duo will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Corigliano, Mozart, and more at the church at 520 Royal Palm Blvd., Vero Beach.

Their recitals invariably mix standard classical repertory with newer works by composers of their heritage such as Fazil Say and Takemitsu, as well as their own transcriptions of classical and contemporary music.
