‘Hippie New Year’ at Indian River Mall Dec. 31

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The third annual Vero Beach Ball will be held at the Indian River Mall on Dec. 31 from 5 p.m. to Midnight. The theme is a “Hippie New Year’s.”

The Anchor sponsors are Sun Aviation, Boston Barricade, Caldwell Banker Paradise and the Indian River Mall.

Proceeds will benefit the Treasure Coast Players a new theater company that specializes in jukebox musicals. They highlight local talent from play-writers to interruptive dancers and every other preforming art in between. A cast of 12 local singers will be showing off their talents for their debut performance. Singers ages 13 to well over 60 will be part of the action that night.

General admission is free. The program is designed to be fun for the whole family, there will be games, fireworks, music, great food and lots of entertainment on a big 40-foot stage, lots of parking is available.

All of this will take place in a grassy area at the north-side of the mall. Bring cash to convert into food and game tickets and don’t forget your blankets and lawn chairs so you will be comfy on the grass as you rock out to the biggest hits from the hippie age of rock and roll!

Bring the kiddies early between 5 and 7 p.m. to listen to Peter Paul and Mary sung by some of our young elementary performers, and then the best singers on the Treasure Coast will blow you away with music from the psychedelic era form 7 to 9 p.m.

And finally, be prepared to rock out with our Beatles Tribute Band, before the big ball drop and fireworks at midnight!

Dress in your best ’60s outfits, visit a booth to get flowers in your hair, or painted on your face, and join in the fun. For those that want a more pampered environment, tickets for The VIP tent with catered food, VIP parking and butler style service is available.
