In Memoriam: Dec. 2

Kathryn Denver, Vero Beach

Kathryn “Kitty” Denver, daughter of William W. and Isabella Robinson, and step-daughter of Mary Robinson, passed away peacefully, at home, on Nov. 28, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in South Carolina, Kitty lived in Philadelphia, Pa., Ocean City, N.J., and Vero Beach.

Kitty was a member of the Woman’s Club of Vero Beach, The Indian River County Garden Club and The Red-Hat Society. She volunteered in hospitals and charitable organizations throughout her life.

She will be remembered by family and friends as a strong woman, who lived a full and happy life through her many endeavors with all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Boyle, of Vero Beach, Sharon Denver Brossman (Mark), of Palm City; and son, Edward J. Denver, of Allentown, Pa.; grandchildren, Thomas, John, Edward M, Christina, Teddy, and Katie; and her great-grandson, Chase Brossman, the sparkle of her eye.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Denver, of Philadelphia.

A future Celebration of Life will be announced.

 

Celia Preuss, 97, Sebastian

Celia Preuss, 97 years young, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2017, at her home at Pelican

Gardens in Sebastian.

Born in New York and living most of her adult life in Miami, she was predeceased by her husband, Howard, and her son, Arthur.

Surviving family includes son, Daniel Preuss; daughters, Ronnie Preuss and Mindy Pollachek; four grandsons; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light and essence of her life.

Graveside family service held in Miami at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.

 

Durrel Rogers, 78, Vero Beach

It is with heavy hearts we must announce the death of Durrel Rogers, on Nov. 28, 2017, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. Durrel was 78 when he left this life, surrounded by his family.

Durrel was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and played softball for many years. Durrel made a career in local citrus as a grove foreman, retiring after 32 years.

Blessed with four children, all living, Chris Rogers (Kelly), Sharon Franks (Clifford), Kathy Bowdoin and Nancy Clarke, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Durrel loved to be with his family and watching his family grow. He also is survived by three brothers and a sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Durrel Rogers to the VNA Hospice House of Vero Beach, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL, 32960.

Interment will be held in Reidsville, Ga. There will be no local service.
