Dr. Peter S. Kennedy, 76, Vero Beach

Dr. Peter S. Kennedy, 76, of Vero Beach, passed away Nov. 7, 2017. He was born Nov. 14, 1940, to Norman and Doris Kennedy in Montclair, N.J.

He graduated from high school in Lawrenceville, N.J., in 1958 and got his B.S. degree from Princeton University in 1962. He then went on to medical school at Temple University and graduated in 1966.

He served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967-1969. After he returned home, he established his private practice in York, Pa., where he worked until his retirement in 1992, and then moved to Vero Beach.

Peter is survived by his wife of 33 years, Naomi; his daughters, Alina (Dave) Werner, of York, Pa., and Julie Kennedy, of York, Pa.; son, Ian (Casey) Kennedy, of Marietta, Ga.; his brother, James Kennedy, of Boca Raton, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Olivia.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St., Vero Beach.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation (memo: private care fund), 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

 

Brittani Lynn Suermondt, 28, Vero Beach

Brittani Lynn Suermondt, 28, of Vero Beach, died Nov. 2, 2017, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Brittani was born in Vero Beach, and has been a life time resident of Vero Beach.

She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School. Brittani attended Freedom Church, Vero Beach.

Survivors include her daughter, Sonya Gardner, of Vero Beach; mother, Rhonda Saxon (James), of Vero Beach; father, Brian Suermondt, Sr.(Wendy), of Vero Beach; brothers, Brian Suermondt, Jr., Jacob Saxon, Michael Neal, all of Vero Beach, and Codie Suermondt of Enterprise, Ala.

A memorial service celebrating Brittani will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at Freedom Church, 455 58th Avenue SW, Vero Beach, with Rev. Roger Ball officiating.
