Vero Beach spine surgeon Dr. Johnny Benjamin Jr. will be arraigned tomorrow in federal court in West Palm Beach after a grand jury indicted him on several federal drug charges.
He was ordered held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond. According to his attorneys, Benjamin will enter a written plea of not guilty at the arraignment.
Benjamin, 51, of Pro Spine Center, faces felony federal charges that include attempted controlled substance possession with intent to distribute, knowingly and intentionally distributing a controlled substance resulting in a death, and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute resulting in death.
