‘Little Shop of Horrors’ opens in Vero Beach Nov. 9

VERO BEACH – Feed the need for musical hilarity when the Vero Beach Theatre Guild presents its newest production “Little Shop of Horrors” opening on Nov. 9. Ben Earman, as Seymour Krelborn, headlines the cast who will sing, dance and act their way through this delicious sci-fi smash hit about a man-eating plant.

Earman portrays a nerdy orphan who is taken in and given a job by Mr. Mushnik, played by Eric Jones, the owner of a rundown flower shop in a rundown part of town. Seymour spends his time doing menial tasks and dreaming of the shop assistant, Audrey, played by Genie Award winner Kelly Clemenzi.

One day, just after an eclipse of the sun, Seymour discovers a strange plant. He buys it and names it Audrey II, whose voice will be sung by Casey Cole. While caring for Audrey II, Seymour discovers the plant’s rather unique appetite.

The plant grows and grows, as does Seymour’s infatuation for Audrey, but who will get her first?

Others in the cast of include Nicholas Keeler, Sara Gordon, Shannon McNair, Brian Rene, Isabel Garrett, Brian Lacerda, Jill Hargrave, Lily Jaramillo and Sandi Hellsrom-Leonard will manipulate the overgrown puppet Audrey II that makes it guest appearance through the sponsorship of the Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach.

The entire production, under the design and direction of Mark Phillip Wygonik, is being sponsored by Treasure Coast Dermatology.
