Community leader joins IRC Executive Roundtable

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County has invited a community leader to take a seat at the table as a new member to the non-profit organization and bringing the number of voting members to 23.

The newest member is Caryn Toole who is the Indian River Director of Devereux Community Based Care of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. She is a liaison between the community based-care agency and local community partners. She previously worked for Children’s Home Society of Florida and the Florida Department of Children and Families in supervision and case management.

A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master Degree in Counseling and Psychology from the University of West Alabama, Ms. Toole serves on the IRC Children’s Services Advisory Committee and Grant Committee, a member of the IR Health Start Coalition and the immediate past President for the St. Helen School Parent’s Guild.

The Executive Roundtable of Indian River County is a group of executive level community leaders from the school system, law enforcement, government and social service organizations, who come together to identify solutions and accomplish system changes that will protect and enhance the lives of Indian River County children, individuals, families and senior residents. Their meetings are held the last Thursday morning of each month at the United Way of Vero Beach.

The group’s initial focus is Kids at Hope, a national concept that demonstrates that all children are capable of success, with no exceptions. Kids at Hope is currently being implemented at Dodgertown Elementary School, Vero Beach Elementary School, Alternative Center for Education, Gifford Youth Activity Center and Sebastian and Treasure Coast Elementary Schools.
