Lois Chase, 85, Vero Beach
Lois Chase, 85, of Vero Beach and Northampton, Mass., beloved mother and “Ammie,” died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017. She was born on Dec. 25, 1931, to Ralph and Velma Housman.
Lois worked for many years as the supervisor of bookkeeping at the Northampton National Bank in Northampton.
After the passing of her husband Carl B. Chase, she moved to Vero Beach with her good friends, Al Drew and Claudette. Vero is where she met her partner of 22 years, James O’Neill.
Survivors include her son, Mark Chase (Theresa); her daughter, Melanie Gulow (Bob Haynes); her grandchildren, Bryant Chase, Sheri Chase, Jamie Phillips (Richie), Jennifer White (Andrew); and her partner James O’Neill. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters, Mia Martinez and Anabelle Phillips.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, Carl; a daughter, Laurie Nuttelman; and her brother, Dudley Housman.
Burial will be private.

Roger Davis Chesley, 74, Vero Beach
Roger Davis Chesley,74, a long-time resident of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully on Oct. 21, 2017, at Indian River Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on June 23, 1943, to George and Mary Alma Chesley in New Britain, Ct.
Roger enjoyed sports and was honored to have earned his Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America.
Roger graduated from the Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, Maine, in 1961 and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania magna cum laude with a degree in finance and economics in 1965. While at Penn, Roger was president of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a member of the Wharton Advisory Board, the Interfraternity Council and the Friars Senior Society, and he was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Society. He then graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude in 1968, where he was the recipient of the Williston Legal Writing Award.
Upon graduation, Roger joined Sullivan & Cromwell, LLP, where he was a member of the team that negotiated the Alaskan Pipeline. Roger was a proud member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He later became Vice President and General Counsel of Amstar Corporation.
The Chesley family previously lived in Short Hills, N.J., where Roger was a Board of Education Member for Millburn Township, Treasurer of Christ Church, and a member of the Noe Pond Club and Canoe Brook Country Club. They later moved to Darien, Ct., where Roger enjoyed golf at The Country Club of Darien and was a member of the Tokeneke Club.
Roger was devoted to his family and friends, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan.
Roger is survived by Joan, his loving and devoted wife of 49 years; a daughter, Carol Chesley Renfrow, and her husband, Joshua Renfrow, of Mendon, Vt.; a son, Robert Chesley, his wife Amanda; and three beloved granddaughters, Elena, Katherine, and Claire, of Rye, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan Chesley, of Arlington, Va.; a brother George Chesley, and his wife, Joy, of Bend, Ore.; a nephew, Shawn Chesley, his wife, Jenny, and their daughters, Vivian and Maren; and a niece, Megan Chesley.
A private family service will be held in New London, New Hampshire, where the family spent many enjoyable summer vacations.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Red Sox Jimmy Fund to support cancer research, the Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Grand Harbor Outreach Program, or to a charity of your choosing.

Frederick Klein, 88, of Sebastian, passed away Oct. 24, 2017.
A Gathering will be held Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, from 12-1 p.m. at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 S. Fleming Street, Sebastian.
A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Military Honors provided by The Sebastian Area Honor Guard.
