INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Economic Opportunities Council of Indian River County (EOC) will be hosting a Head Start Community Read Week during the week of Oct. 23 to 27. EOC is inviting members of the community to come to a Head Start classroom and read a story to the children.
“With just a half hour of your time, you can truly impact these children and help them develop a love for reading”, says EOC Executive Director, Angela Davis-Green. Last year, 37 readers visited EOC’s 5 Indian River County Head Start Centers. Anyone interested in volunteering to read should contact Nancy McCurry to schedule a date, time, and location.
Nancy can be reached by phone at 772-562-4177 Ext. 1114 or by email at nmccurry@eocofirc.net.
