INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center at a local library now has expanded its hours, emergency services officials said.
The center, which opened Tuesday at the Indian River State College Brackett Library, will now be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center will continue to provide assistance through Sunday for residents affected by hurricane Irma.
It will give more complete services than the one held at the library last month. The library is located at 6155 College Lane, Vero Beach.
Disaster Recovery Centers are one-stop shops for eligible storm survivors looking for one-on-one help. Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and various state agencies will be at the center to answer questions, including checking on an existing application.
These centers are not related to the Food for Florida program that was held in the county last week, officials said. Electronic Benefits Transfer cards are not being given out at the library.
