VERO BEACH – October is Mulch Madness month at Master’s Academy. All month long, the Athletic Department takes orders for bags of mulch that will be delivered to area residences and businesses throughout Indian River County on Nov. 10 and 11.
Last year, a team of volunteers delivered over 3,000 bags of mulch – this year, the athletes are hoping to more than double that amount.
This is the fifth year the Patriot Athletic Program has offered mulch sales to the community. The mulch is super fresh, coming straight from the source to Master’s Academy, and student athletes will even spread the mulch for a small fee or donation.
“Mulch Madness provides a practical, high-quality product at a reasonable price, delivered to your door, plus your purchase supports a great cause,” Athletic Director Bob Flaming said.
Mulch Madness is a huge undertaking and requires many volunteers behind the scenes and in all areas of sales, promotion, logistics, routing, navigation, and delivery. Residents and businesses receive the satisfaction of beautifying their landscapes right before the Thanksgiving holiday.
The entire Master’s Academy community joins together to support this event that benefits the vibrant Athletic Department.
Master’s Academy teams have had great success in recent years, often going deep into post-season play. The Master’s Academy Varsity Football team went undefeated in regular season play last year and three Patriots football players were recognized as all-state players. Middle School athletes were recognized by the Mid Coast Athletic Conference for their outstanding sportsmanship. Several Patriot athletes have gone on to play their respective sport at the collegiate level.
Above all, the goal of the Athletic Program at Master’s Academy is to develop Christ-like character, leadership, discipline, commitment, and sportsmanship across all sports and within each student athlete.
If you would like to order mulch or would like to know more about the Patriot Athletic Program, visit the Master’s Academy website, www.mastersvb.org or call 772-794-4655. Student athletes will be taking orders for mulch throughout the county during the month of October. You may see them outside of your local Publix store or Wal-Mart.
