INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — ACT tests scheduled for Saturday at two local high schools have been cancelled because of the forthcoming weather conditions, according to the School District of Indian River County.
Vero Beach High School and Sebastian River High School were scheduled to take the tests, officials said. The rescheduled date for tests will be posted at www.actstudent.org as soon as it’s set.
Officials cancelled the tests in order to prepare for Hurricane Irma, which strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane with 185 mph winds Tuesday. Irma is expected to bring life-threatening wind, a storm surge and rainfall hazards to the area on Sunday and Monday.
