FLORIDA RIDGE — A man is dead after being thrown off a motorcycle in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Ralph D. Deblasio, 59, of Colorado, was driving east on a motorcycle about 10:40 p.m. Sunday at 25th Street Southwest and 13th Street Southwest in Florida Ridge, south of the Indian River Club. For an unknown reason, Deblasio veered off the northern shoulder of the roadway and onto a private lawn.
The motorcycle overturned and Deblasio was thrown from the vehicle and into the westbound lane of 25th Street Southwest, troopers said. The motorcycle stopped in the same lane.
Deblasio was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
