VERO BEACH – Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has announced that Jennifer Byer, MD, has joined the statewide practice. She will see patients at the joint offices of Florida Cancer Specialists and Florida Healthcare Specialists in two locations: Vero Beach East, located at 3730 7th Terrace, Suite 101, Vero Beach, and Sebastian, located at 13060 US 1, Suite A, Sebastian.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Byer to Florida Cancer Specialists,” said Florida Cancer Specialists CEO Brad Prechtl.
Dr. Byer received her training from the University of South Florida/Moffitt Cancer Center, where she was recognized with an Outstanding Fellow Teaching Award.
“Dr. Byer will offer added convenience for our patients in Indian River County and we are very pleased to have her join the FCS family,” Prechtl said.
A native of Vero Beach, Dr. Byer attended the University of South Florida (USF), in Tampa, for medical school and Internal Medicine residency. In 2014, she was awarded a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center/University of South Florida. Dr. Byer has a keen interest in clinical research and has presented at various medical meetings, including the 2013 and 2015 Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium in California and Infectious Diseases Society of America in Philadelphia, Pa. She has also written review articles and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Throughout her career, Dr. Byer has volunteered in her local community and beyond, including the USF BRIDGE Clinic and the Latin Medical Student Association (LMSA) Medical Mission Team.
